The comedy by Thodoris Atheridis “A bee in August” is presented by Theater One as part of the 26th Cultural Festival of the University of Cyprus, directed by Petros Charalambous.

Haris is on an isolated beach with the three women of his life.

His wife, Vassula, his German half-sister, Hidelgard, and his lover Maria, who pretends to be his sister’s deaf friend.

Everything goes smoothly, until a bee stings the allergic Harry, he swells up and becomes unrecognizable.

The sting of a bee will become the occasion for the hero to come face to face with hidden secrets and also with his other self – his alter-ego.

The shock will not only be allergic, not only will his body be deformed, but he will realize his well-hidden self and redefine his relationship with those close to him.

The fears, such as rejection, loneliness, death, which Harry faces, are essentially those of each one of us.

This comical situation gets the messages across.
